Principal's Message
We are thankful for the generosity of our school community. This spirit of giving is always present. We thank everyone for helping those in need, like the orphan children in Honduras. As it says it Romans in 2 Corinthians 6-8:" Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. "
We do not have school tomorrow February 18th, due to Parent/Teacher Conferences- (8 am - 11 am). There will be no school on Monday, February 21st- Presidents day. School will be back in session on Tuesday, February 22nd. Have a great weekend and God bless you all.
* Please Saint of the Day (<click here) for next week. We encourage parents to review the Saint of the Day with their children. We also post it daily on our Facebook Page (<click here)
** We are proud to introduce our new school website: https://edu.stmichaelcp.org/ Please access this website for all school information including school lunch (located at the bottom of the website) and educonnect.(top of the website under " Parents" tab.)
MEMO from Mr. Huber
SMA School Covid-19 Guidelines 2021-22
The Johnson County Health Department has adapted the CDC updated quarantine guidelines that were released on Dec. 27, 2021. The SMA School Covid-19 Guidelines 2021-2022 has been updated to reflect these changes.
Notes from the School Nurse:
- Parents will need to get exposed students tested on day 5 and provide the school nurse with the results (PCR test preferred, but rapid test is acceptable if they have 2 consecutive negative results)
- If you are unable to find a test, please contact the school nurse as she does have test available or can direct you to a testing site.
- If your student has a MEDICAL MASK EXPEMPTION, contact the school nurse to make arrangements or if you have any other concerns regarding wearing masks.
SMA School "Celebrations & Activities"
A HUGE thank you (muchas gracias) on behalf of all of the girls at our parish mission in Honduras. We are so grateful for your generosity in support of EDUCATION. We met AND exceeded our goal of $8,000 by raising $12,092.50. These funds help with tuition costs to send 24 girls to the local Catholic high school; help provide tutors in math, english, music, computer, general studies; help maintain the computer lab at the home for girls; and will support the new Linda Hopfinger Memorial Scholarship.
Each grade helped to make this collection a success and we are grateful for ALL of this support. Here are the top three grades:
3rd place: KDG: $1,373.49
2nd place: 4 $1,444.30
1st place: 6 $3,573.60
Best overall participation: 4th grade and 2nd grade!!!!
Congratulations, the winning grade will do an online visit with some of the students at our parish mission. Thank you to the 7th grade service ambassadors who helped throughout the week by holding up signs and reminding students of the collection. Thank you to the American Heritage Girls for donating their proceeds to our education drive. Again, thank you for helping students (just like you) have HOPE for the future!

Camera Donations Requested
Dear Parents,
This year we have involved the SMA students in the creation of the yearbook, and many of them were very enthusiastic to participate as photographers. We had one or two usable cameras which they shared, but the quality of the photos were at times a little grainy or were difficult to take pictures with.
As the yearbook sponsor, we are reaching out to any parents who may have put away a digital camera never to be used again. If you'd like to give that camera new life, please consider donating it to SMA for the yearbook staff to use in the years to come! It would be easiest if it came with a USB cable that connects the camera to a computer USB port. Also, simple to use cameras would be most desirable. If you have a camera you would like to donate, please contact our Yearbook sponsor Mrs. Floyd @ celene.floyd@stmichaelcp.org
We thank you in advance for any donations that you would consider.
