Dear Hedgesville High School Community:
A report of a threat at Hedgesville High School was received via the Safe Schools Help Line at approximately 9:20 a.m. today. School administration immediately evacuated students while law enforcement responded to the scene and began an investigation.
The school was thoroughly searched using bomb-sniffing K-9's and the all-clear was received at 11:35 a.m. from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department; students and staff were then allowed back in the building.
Thank you to the BCS Transportation Department for deploying buses to provide shelter to students in the cold weather. We take all threats seriously and appreciate the swift response by school administration and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.
