What happens during Type 2 diabetes?
When you have type 2 diabetes, your body still makes insulin. But as time goes on, your pancreas may make less and less insulin, which will make it harder to keep your blood sugar in your target range. If your blood sugar gets too high and stays too high for too long, your risk for other health problems increases.
Need A Perfect Diet to Keep your blood sugar under control?
Eating right is a big part of managing your diabetes. It can make a big difference in keeping your blood sugar level under control.
When you're building your diet, four of the main things to focus on are carbs, fiber, fat, and salt. Here's what you should know about each of them.
How does being fit control diabetes?
As your body digests food, some of it turns into glucose and is absorbed as energy. Your pancreas creates insulin to help your body absorb glucose into your cells. Diabetics either do not have enough insulin or suffer from insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is when the body does not recognize insulin and cannot use it to balance blood glucose. When this happens, sugar, or glucose, builds up in the blood. Tight control of blood sugar is important to prevent complications and promote a healthy life. Regular exercise helps your body burn off and balance blood sugar.
