Suttons Bay Elementary Newsletter

A Note from the Principal
Dear families,
Next week we celebrate El Día del Niño, one of our favorite holidays! This holiday is celebrated worldwide at different times of the year, but we honor our Suttons Bay Latino students by sharing in celebration with Mexico on April 30th. We have a whole week planned to celebrate!
Dress-Up Days:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Career Day (dress what you want to be when you grow up)
Wednesday: Dress to Impress Day
Thursday: Red & White Day
Friday: Dia de los Colores, Colorful Day
I am especially excited for Tuesday, which is a new dress-up day for us. When I was younger, I wanted to be a tornado chaser... I wonder what I can wear for that career!
Join us Wednesday for our NORSE Assembly at 9:15. Join us Friday for our Día del Niño parade at 2:30.
As usual, if you need anything at all, please feel free to call, text, or email: (231) 534-4439 or fehrenbachs@suttonsbayschools.com.
-Shelagh Fehrenbach, principal

Thank you!
We had a great time at our meeting this week, hunting through the school for details on the upcoming bond proposal. Check out some of the fun photos submitted in the scavenger hunt!
Our winning team, the "Cool Moms," won the hunt with 4600 points and earned a $25 gift card for their 2nd/3rd grade cohort! Congrats to all who participated, learned, and earned!
Community Connections
We love to partner with SB Bingham Library!
Our School has access to TumbleBookLibrary through the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library! It’s unlimited, and it’s FREE for you to use from home!
You can use your computer, tablet, or mobile phone. All you need is an internet connection. There are no downloads: books are streamed right to your device at the click of a button.
There are over 250 animated, talking picture books! The site also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books and videos, and graphic novels. When Mrs. Topol visited our library classes last week, she was able to show all of our elementary students how this site works. Ask them to show you too! Happy reading!
