While the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Test) is a requirement for those planning on joining any branch of the military, the exam and specifically the career exploration program isn’t just for students interested in the military. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program helps students to discover their strengths and interests then map out post-secondary plans with comprehensive information for over 1,000 occupations. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is open to any Eagan Student in grade 11-12 who want to learn more about their career options or for those that are interested in joining the military.
There are 3 parts to the ASVAB Career Exploration Program.
Part 1: Pre Intro to the ASVAB Career Exploration Program
Part 2: Aptitude Test on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 7:30 AM
Part 3: Score interpretation, interest self-assessment, and career exploration tools: Oct.7th
If you are interested in taking the ASVAB please contact Jen Gustafson @ Jennifer.gustafson@district196.org
Parents of EHS Students
EHS is in need of caring adults to work as substitutes for paraprofessionals working directly with students throughout the school day. As a paraprofessional substitute, your primary task is to assist our teaching staff in the classroom to support students that need a little extra help throughout the day. Being a substitute allows you the flexibility of working when you have time in your personal schedule – this could be 1 day/week or 5 days/week. These positions are essential in order to provide the needed support for students throughout the school day.
The substitute requirements include:
· High school diploma
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (paid for by the District)
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check (paid for by the applicant)
· Must complete a Personal Care Assistant Certificate of Training
· Must attend a new hire orientation

Free Student Meals
Students in District 196 will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021-22 school year due to a grant provided by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All families are still encouraged to complete an Educational Benefits Application, formerly the free and reduced-price meals application. A new application must be submitted each year.
If a student wishes to purchase an a la carte item or a second lunch, they must have money loaded into their meal account or have cash in hand.
Friday, October 1 - Teacher Data/Assessment Day and Workshop for High Schools
Lifetouch School Photos - Retake and Makeup Day is Monday, October 11th
Here Comes the Bus
As we begin the new school year, many of our families are signing up for our school bus notification system,Here Comes the Bus. Some families have experiences errors when trying to set up their account when they type in their student's last name and student ID.
Instead of the student ID, the parent needs to type in the student's lunch pin, which can be found in their Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Do not use the student ID, but rather the lunch pin.
Steps for Families
- Log into the app with your email address and use the District 196 ID: 73500
- Add your student’s name and student lunch account number, which can be found in their Infinite Campus profile. (If your child is in Early Childhood Education, contact the Transportation to get a temporary lunch account number. Email Transportation@district196.org.)
- Once login is complete, set up a virtual radius that will alert when the bus is in the area.
