Lesson Plans
Planning is essential to the effectiveness of any instructional program. Lesson plans help ensure consistent, well-paced instruction is taking place on a daily basis.
● Plans need to be posted by Monday morning for the week.
● Plans must be posted in the 17.18 Google Drive folder underneath your grade level and name.
● Plans should include evidence of:
o Reading Block-90 minutes continuous
o Compass- 25 minutes
o Really Great Reading- 20 minutes (Kg-3)
o Accelerated Reader time- at least 15 minutes should be provided in the classroom. This can be part of morning work
o Math block- 60 minutes
o Science and Social Studies instruction
o Writing instruction (Write Bright)
o Identify students who are in MTSS Tier 2 and Tier 3
o Student friendly objectives in lesson plan and posted on the wall for students to see
o ESOL/ESE Accommodations
o Reteach/Enrichment strategies
● Grades/Assessments must be updated by Wednesday of each week
● DoJo and ParentLink is a tool that can be used for parent communication

First Year (0-District years): 2 full formal- 1 per semester, 2 classroom walk-through- 1 per semester and mid-year and final performance evaluation required.
All others: 2 Targeted- 1 per semester, 2 classroom walk-through- 1 per semester, and final performance evaluation required.
