A Peek Inside the Week - Dec. 2nd, 2022
A Note from Your Principals
Next week, our attendance team will be meeting to review November's attendance data; that means our families get a "sneak peek".
We'd like to start by saying, "Thank you". Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that all 503 of our students have an opportunity to learn alongside their teachers and peers each and every day that we're in school. It's been 58 if you're counting!
We appreciate the open communication and thoughtful questions related to your child's attendance. We know that you're giving careful consideration to the scheduling of medical appointments, avoiding vacations that disrupt school days, and are determining whether it's necessary for your child to stay home from school due to minor illness/symptoms. Working together, the percentage of our students deemed chronically absent DECREASED this month!
Well we are certainly headed in the right direction, our November data says there is still more work to do!
- Average grade-level attendance for November was 93.24 -- our goal is 95% or more.
- Grade 1 had the highest attendance at 95%.
- Grade 5 had the lowest attendance at 90%.
- We currently have 78 students considered chronically absent (15.5%) -- our goal is 5% or less.
- Kindergarten has the highest number of chronically absent students (19).
- Grade 2 has the lowest number of chronically absent students (7).
- 16 students are considered chronically tardy; arriving to school after 8:45AM (or later!)
As we head into the holiday season and the new year, let's continue our partnership. Working together we can ensure that our children have access to the rich learning that happens every day!

Hour of Code
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works. That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 5-9). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried Hour of Code. Students at each grade level will have the opportunity to try their hand at coding activities during their STEM class time.
Your child can show you what they learned, as well as explore further at home, via the following Hour of Code link: www.hourofcode.org
This link can also be found under the Student section of our school’s website. Choose Elementary Resources and then click on the Science and STEM resources.
Fire Safety Presentations
We appreciate all our volunteer firemen and women do for our community each and every day!
