- PE Minutes Report due - Please turn them into Grace by 9/25/19
- Please make sure you review your student "Return Sheets" and communicate to me what children should be placed on the 'No Photo" list. Please send me a confidential email.
- Mentor Monday Mentors needed. Please shoot Yvette an email if you would like to be a mentor this year. We will have you meet with your mentee 1x/month Oct-May. Mentor Monday will look a little different this year. For now just let her know if you are willing to possibly be a mentor.
Kettering's Signature Practices
Teachers,
In Ann Tomlinson’s book, Differentiated Instruction, she noted the first non-negotiable effective model within a classroom is an environment that supports learning. “Students learn best when they feel safe, respected, involved, challenged, and supported,” she wrote. As I begin to visit classrooms, I am seeing physical environments that are inviting, with displays of student work, arrangement of furniture that supports student collaboration, and learning targets that direct and inform student outcomes. It is also evident that the emotional support from teachers are in place, as teachers are attuned and responsive to the affective, cognitive and physical needs of the students.
Within the onset of this year, what practice within the social and emotional learning of students do you plan on either enhancing or adding to your repertoire?

> 504 Plans have been placed in your box if you have a student with a current 504 Plan. Please follow the plan accordingly and let me know if you would like to update it at any time. Otherwise, we will update around the annual due date.
> Mentor Monday Mentors needed. Please shoot me an email if you would like to be a mentor this year. We will have you meet with your mentee 1x/month Oct-May. Mentor Monday will look a little different this year. For now just let me know if you are willing to possibly be a mentor.
> Mentee referrals: I will place a mentee referral form in your box this week. We are looking for kiddos that would benefit from working with an adult mentor 1x/month.
> SBAC Interim Assessments may start as early as Sept. 16. You will get an email from CA-Assessments-DoNotReply CA-Assessments@ets.org> (possibly drop into your junk mail). Please follow directions to create your new F#ncy!8 password and save it in a secret place. You will be directed to sign an electronic SBAC Affidavit rather than a paper one this year. Once you create your new password you can begin accessing the CAASPP Interim Assessments and Reporting System, as well as the extensive resources available in the Digital Library.
> SST information on students live in LROI. LROI>Applications>Student Study Team>search student (you may need to toggle to ‘18-’19 or ‘17-’18 school year to see previous SSTs). Paper directions are in my office, but I think ya all know how this goes. :-D
> Counselor Referral Forms: teachers, staff, parents, and students may complete a form and place on my door. Once I am back on campus I will attend to the referral forms asap. :-)
> GATE Screening: Oct. 7-22 for all 2nd and 4th grade students not already identified. GATE post-screen (second round): Nov. 4-20. I will send out a schedule early October.
> SBAC/CAA/CAST test window: April 20 - May 29. A specific schedule will be coming soon to a theater near you. ;-D
> Sanford Harmony: schedule TBD. See me if you want to get started ASAP. So far I have completed lessons in Ms. Cousino’s, Ms. Mitchell’s, and Mrs. Highducheck’s classes. If you feel comfortable rolling it out yourselves, then please feel free. We would like you to conduct SH Lesson at least 2x/month…if not weekly. Thank you!!!
