Attention 2nd year CTE Students - Next Steps Pathway Event
Paths to Success Event 2022
In partnership with Jefferson Elementary School District, JUHSD and Skyline Community College hosted a Paths to Success event for 150 8th-grade students from Daly City this past March 18 at Skyline College. The event promoted an understanding and connection of high school pathways and postsecondary opportunities for students through hands-on workshops. The workshops, featuring Digital Media, Culinary Arts, Engineering, Dance, Computer Science, Fashion Design, Automotive, and Manufacturing, were led by CTE teachers from Westmoor and Jefferson, Skyline professors, and high school students. 8th-grade students were able to experience a snapshot of the high school CTE classroom.
The event welcomed Claudia Sandoval, Master Chef, as the keynote speaker. Claudia connected with the students through her Mexican heritage and inspired them with her journey to success. Students left the day inspired, prepared, and ready to follow a path to success. See photos from this event below.
