PEP STATISTICAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN YEAR #2
BASELINE: 84% of all students demonstrated proficiency on written tests, 93% on rubrics, and 75% on fitness logs, respectively.
MID GRANT: 83% of all students demonstrated proficiency on written tests, 87% on rubrics (now standardized by level), and 87% on fitness logs (standardized by grade and course), respectively.
2. Overall PERFORMANCE GOALS For Year # 2
Fitness Test Scores are up from the PEP Baseline scores to midpoint in Year #2 with the exception of the PACER ( Perceived Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run) and the number of minutes students engage in physical activity. The overall scores dropped from 69 - 55 %. Factors that may contribute are:
- The time of year the Test #2 is given is winter and many students lack a place to get aerobic physical exertion as opposed to the summer when students find outdoor activities in summer.
- MHS students are a completely new sample of students from semester to semester.
Physical education teachers strive to actively come up with ways to help students get active in the winter months. See HEALTHY FITNESS ZONE CHART BELOW:
3. Fruits and Vegetable Consumption Continues to rise in Year #2. SEE YRBS RESULTS BELOW
ANOTHER SUMMER SUCCESS - The 100 MILE SUMMER CLUB!
Students wore an activity tracker during the summer months and attempted to accumulate 100 miles by September. Those students who met the goal were invited to run a victory 100- yard run on the turf at Hensler FIeld at the September 9th Mukwonago Varsity Football Game. They were also invited to put their name in a drawing for a FitBit.
And the winner of the FitBIt was Julia from Rolling Hills Elementary School.
