Colts Neck High School
December Newsletter
From the Principals Desk
Dear Parents/Guardians, & Students
With defeat of our referendum, and the implementation of Senate Bill 2, the Freehold Regional High School District is facing some challenging times ahead. The state funding reduction, a staggering 50% reduction over several years, will have significant impact on our programs, including busing, athletics and class size. Next year the FRHSD will lose between $6 and $7 million in state aid, with subsequent reductions over the next four years. I am asking that all of our parents visit https://sites.google.com/frhsd.com/advocating-for-our-students/home to find out how you can help us advocate for our students.
Even though November was a short month, it was a busy one for us here at CNHS. We had several successful events during the month, including the fall play DNA, Battle of the Classes, and the culmination of our fall sports season. I would like to thank all of the parents who came out to our Fall Conference Night, and the PTSO for their support for Battle of the Classes. Our students have shown remarkable school spirit this fall, and I look forward to them carrying this through the winter season.
I would also like to take a moment to wish everyone a very happy holiday season. I hope that everyone takes the opportunity to relax and connect with family and friends during the holidays. Since December is a short month my next newsletter will not come out until the end of January.
