Morton Ranch Elementary
November 28, 2023
Dear Maverick Families,
As we approach the holiday season, our teachers are beginning to prepare for our annual winter parties at MRE. The Winter parties will be held on Friday, December 15th. Because this is an early dismissal day, we will need to limit the parties to students only.
There will be no outside visitors on this day due to logistical and safety reasons. Having a half day of school poses some challenges in terms of accommodating a larger crowd, and we want to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff during the winter parties. Limiting the party to students only will help us manage the number of people in the building at one time, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
I understand that family participation is an important part of all school events, and I appreciate the enthusiasm and support from all of our parents. Rest assured, we will continue to organize various events throughout the school year that provide opportunities for family involvement. Be on the lookout for information regarding our upcoming STEM Night (December 14th) and International Night (February 8th).
I hope for your understanding and cooperation regarding this adjustment. My priority is always the safety and well-being of our students, and I believe this decision aligns with that commitment.
Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating a festive and enjoyable winter party experience for our MRE students.
Lori Maurer
Principal

Students who demonstrate signs and symptoms of illness or a possible communicable disease should be referred to the school clinic for further assessment. Those with an elevated temperature of 100 degrees or above or those who vomit or have diarrhea must be isolated and sent home. The student must be fever free without fever-reducing medication for 24 hours before he/she can be allowed back to school. Those excluded due to vomiting or diarrhea must also be free of symptoms without the use of preventative medications before being allowed back to school. (Administrative Regulation FFAD).
Please notify the nurse if your child has any new allergies or other medical changes that arise during the school year.
It is also important to keep your contact information, phone numbers, and emergency contacts current.
Please feel free to contact the campus nurse with any concerns or questions.

REMINDER THAT ALL STUDENTS AT MRE SHOULD HAVE A CHANGE OF CLOTHES
Our clinic needs your help! All students at MRE need a change of clothes in their backpack. We want to minimize the amount of instruction that students miss when an accident occurs. Students should be able to change clothes in the clinic and return to class. However, students are often waiting in the clinic for a change of clothes, resulting in the loss of instruction.
Students often need a change of clothes for nosebleeds, food/drink accidents, sickness, etc.
NO PHOTOS OR VIDEO ALLOWED DURING YOUR LUNCH VISIT IN THE CAFETERIA. THANK YOU!
