Bubble Fun Run
We are so excited to bring this fun event to East Fallowfield. Thank you to everyone who has been sharing their student fundraising links on social media and with loved ones. We have raised $4,138 to date towards our goal of $10,000. Please keep sharing. We appreciate all of your support.
District Orchestra
On Thursday, April 11th, 5th Grade students Hudson Durborow (viola) and Paradyse Parker (cello) attended PMEA District 12 5th and 6th Grade Orchestra Festival. These students practiced and performed with over 100 students from all over Delaware and Chester Counties. They worked hard to learn music that is much more challenging than what we typically play in elementary school. Both students did an amazing job in rising to the challenge! We are so proud of them!
1st Grade Goes to Herr's Factory
In class, our 1st graders have learned the parts of a plant and what plants need to grow. Our trip to the Herr's Factory helped us see how some plants can be used as food. We saw how potatoes are washed, cut and cooked to make potato chips. We even got to taste some warm chips! Yum! We also learned that tortilla chips are made from corn. We saw them being made, put into bags to be boxed and shipped to our stores. It was a great learning experience for all!
4th Grade Goes to United Sports
East Fallowfield 4th graders had the amazing opportunity to visit and support the United Sports Center for a field trip right here in Chester County. The 4th grade as a whole started out with a group activity to determine their partners. The students had to find their corresponding card: one student had peanut butter and the other had to find the word jelly. Once the students found their partners, they were broken up into 3 teams consisting of students from each class. The students rotated between stations where there was Basketball, Capture the Flag, Soccer, Relay Races, and Beach Ball. The students enjoyed their activities while showing good sportsmanship and representing the Big East well!
PSSA Information from Mrs.Willis
Dear East Fallowfield Families,
During the month of April and May, Coatesville Area School District’s third through eighth grade students will be taking the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) exams. These tests include both multiple choice questions and open-ended responses.
Our schedule for taking these assessments is listed below. Included with this letter are Frequently Asked Questions, Code of Conduct for Test Takers, Calculator Policy, and Guidelines for Electronic Devices as well as a letter from the Coatesville Area School District regarding PSSAs with changes to the opt-out procedures. Please review this information, and if you have questions about the PSSA assessments or the rules governing them, contact me at 610-383-3765.
- English Language Arts: April 22nd, April 24th, and April 25th
- Math: April 29th and April 30th
- Science (4th Grade Only): May 1st and May 2nd
Finally, we would like all students to perform to the best of their ability on these state assessments and we need your help. For students to perform well, I ask that they be well rested, eat a healthy breakfast, and be at school on time during the days of testing. Thank you for supporting your child’s achievement and growth!
Art to Remember Fundraiser
Art to Remember is an organization that takes students' artwork and creates customizable gifts for kids and their families to enjoy. All of the money raised goes back to the art program in order for us to continue creating awesome art. First, students create drawings, paintings, and other two-dimensional art. Then, it is all submitted to Art to Remember, and they photograph and scan them. Forms are sent back to the school and students of their artwork with a personal QR code. Family, friends, and teachers can scan the codes to shop online for items with the students work on them. When ordering is complete the items are sent to the school and given to the students. The kids feel special seeing their art come to life and have something to remember the experience by.
Code of Conduct
Please see the link below for an important message from our Director of Pupil Services, Michele Snyder regarding upcoming sessions to discuss the district's student code of conduct.
