REAPING THE JOYS OF GROWING YOUR OWN LETTUCE
Second graders got to harvest the lettuce they grew in their classroom today. Mr. Breneman even brought the fixings for salad so we could try it. It was super yummy! Tomorrow the cafeteria will serve the lettuce we harvested during lunchtime!
SUMMER EBT IS COMING TO MICHIGAN!
This upcoming summer, eligible families will be able to receive money for select food items through the new Summer EBT program. The Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program has officially ended. However, the United States Department of Agriculture has approved a permanent Summer EBT program for eligible households.
Summer EBT benefits can be used to purchase:
- fruits and vegetables
- meat, poultry, and fish
- dairy products
- breads and cereals
- other foods (such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages)
To receive the Summer EBT benefit, every family must have an approved student eligibility benefit (free or reduced). Households may need to complete and submit the School Meals Application online by clicking the "Apply for Benefits" button at https://concord.familyportal.cloud/. It is important to get this information submitted quickly to ensure benefits are not delayed.
This does not impact your student receiving free breakfast and lunch at school. If you have any questions, please contact Alan Breneman at alan.breneman@concordschools.net.

Even more impressively the 1st place middle school team of Mya Barrett and Brady Coburn is ranked 6th out of 647 teams in Michigan all of which are high school teams. Thanks to a generous grant awarded from the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, Concord High School will be the 2nd school in MI to pilot fresh milk dispensers at lunch! HIGH SCHOOL BAND CRASHES THE TRAILHEAD
The Concord Yellow Jacket Band had a successful coffee shop performance fundraiser. 6-12 band students performed at Trail Head Coffee to collect donations for new uniforms and yearly band expenses. The students had a great time performing and we enjoyed seeing the community come out and support our program. A big thank you to Trail Head Coffee for allowing us to use their facilities. You can see the Yellow Jacket Band at their next concert, May 1st at 7 pm in the high school's cafeteria. Alongside the concert, the band will also be selling custom band shirts and having a bake sale. We hope to see you there!
