Students who Need an Designated a Space or Other Considerations
This year, Ramadan runs from March 10 to April 9. If your students need a designated space or have other considerations during school, please have them talk with the grade-level administration to step up.
March is Women’s History Month
In honor of Women’s History Month, we wanted to spotlight a prominent activist and psychologist, E. Kitch Childs (1937-1993). Childs was a feminist lesbian therapist and activist who focused her work on healing women of color communities utilizing anti-racism and anti-sexism as her guiding compass. She was an advocate of gay and lesbian human rights, and contributed much of her life’s work to the revision of the American Psychological Association’s attitude toward homosexuality. She also was a founding member of the Association for Women in Psychology, whose work continues to provide activism in public policy and greater opportunities to all, regardless of gender identity, race, ability, or sexuality. To read more about E. Kitch Childs, check out this resource.

Renaissance Star Math and ELA Assessment Results Mailed Home with Report Card (Week of 3/18). Included with the Trimester 2 Report Cards being sent home this week are student Renaissance Star Math and ELA assessment results. CHS Students will take the STAR Math and ELA Assessment three times this year through their Advisory classes. We use the results of these assessments to measure general achievement in reading and math and to determine individual student learning needs. As students take the assessment over the year, it will also show student learning growth and identify skills they can work on to improve their learning. It is essential to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how a student is doing in school. You can Scan the QR Code or see https://www.renaissance.com/star-scores/ for more general information. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your student's teacher.
