Chequamegon North Board Report
November 2021
Monthly Report to the Chequamegon School District About the Glidden Campus
Chequamegon Middle School & Glidden Elementary School
COMP Completion
On in-service, Monday, November 1, Jessica Fostad and I completed our Classroom Organization and Management training with new Chequamegon teachers and their mentors. The feedback from the course was excellent even having one experienced staff member say that all district staff could benefit from this course. As Jess and I are certified trainers, this is a service we can provide to our district without the need to pay to bring in a trainer or send our teachers out of the district for professional development.

Excitement in the North
One evening just at dismissal time, the Chequamegon North Campus received word of a broken water main impacting service to the school. Within minutes, practice schedules were rearranged and Glidden Elementary Staff had contacted all parents to inform them that students would be coming home instead of staying at the after-school program. After speaking with the Town of Jacobs crew they were confident that the water would be restored within the next hour or two. Contingency plans were in place to determine what we would do the following day if there was no water at the north campus. Thankfully, the crew was right and had water restored to our building that evening having very little impact on our students and their learning!

Coach Thomas Tollakson has been offering Saturday basketball clinics for young students to build their skills. Three hour-long sessions are offered on Saturdays for groups of students in Pre-school to 2nd grade, 3rd to 6th grade, and 7th & 8th Grade. Chequamegon High School players come to the sessions to support and assist Coach Tollakson.
