Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. This program provides a supportive environment to practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in event.

New England Village American Sign Language Beginners Level Course

Sheingold Community Building 664 School St. Pembroke
New England Village is offering a FREE 3 week beginners level course in American Sign Language (ASL). The class will be held inside the Sheingold Community Building at 664 School St, Pembroke from 4-5: 30 pm. You do not have to attend all 3 weeks to enroll. Instructor Marianne Molinari will introduce familiar words and sentences each week that will assist you in providing fair and equal access for persons supported in the classroom, workforce or home environment. Provided by the PHS Varsity Coaching Staff & Players in collaboration with Pembroke Youth Soccer Association.
April 16th, 17th, and 18th on the PHS Turf from 2 pm - 5 pm.
In the event of inclement weather, clinic sessions will be moved into the gymnasium.

Pembroke Public Library Barkology 101

Visit with a certified pet therapy dog and learn some important dog and puppy basics including what a dog is saying by its body language as well as training and safety. Children ages 8-13 may join us for this presentation and workshop.

This is a special program for kids (ages 0-5) to enjoy being kids in a safe environment. Little ones can grow and play with a special pop up tent and tunnel and have access to toys including building blocks, puppets, play dough, and more.
Pembroke Public Library Backyard Astronomy: Scanning April Skies with the Library Telescope

Did you know Pembroke Public Library has a telescope available for cardholders to check out? Learn all about it in this program! Our brand-new Orion StarBlast 4.5-inch Astro Reflector Telescope was provided by the Aldrich Astronomical Society's Library Telescope Program and purchased for us by the Friends of the Pembroke Public Library. Members of Aldrich will give a family-friendly presentation on how to use the telescope to observe objects from your own backyard using a technique called star hopping.
Weather permitting, we will conclude the evening by going outside to give everyone a chance to try out the telescope and look at the sky!
Pembroke Public Library Tooth Fairy Storytime

Learn about dental health with the Tooth Fairy! Ages 2-5 are welcome to join us at the library for a special visit from the Tooth Fairy featuring a story, a tooth brushing demonstration with a stuffed animal, take-home goody bags, and a coloring craft.

Pembroke Public Library 4-H Babysitting Course

This full-day interactive 4-H babysitting class trains young people (grades 6-12) to be responsible caregivers. Participants will learn child safety, Basic First Aid and emergencies, Feeding, Ages and stages of development, entertaining, discipline and making a business plan.
Space is limited for this workshop; deadline for registration if April 12. Students must complete a registration form (available at the library) and pay a fee of $15 per person to sign up. This class is partially funded by the Friends of the Pembroke Public Library.
Pembroke Recreation Easter Egg Filling Volunteers

Pembroke Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to fill Easter Eggs for our Annual Egg Hunt. The hours that are available are M-F 3:00-5: 00 pm. Please call the office at 781-293-3249 to make an appointment. This is a great opportunity for High school students to log their community service hours.

Pembroke High School Cheer Youth Cheer Clinic

Summer Hoop School
Summer sign up season is right around the corner.
I hope you decide to join us again this summer at the Pembroke Varsity Hoop School. VHS will be running 3 weeks of clinics this Summer at PHS. This year we will be providing online registration form, the link is posted below with descriptions of all Summer Clinics, please use the link provided below to register for the Varsity Hoop School. We also will be accepting online payments through Venmo and Paypal. I have provided the links below, but there are also links in the registration form. Varsity Hoop School Sessions 2019
- Week 1 June 24-27th 9am-2pm Boys and Girls entering Grades 1st-5th
- Week 2 July 8th-July 11th 9am-2pm Boys and Girls entering Grades 6th-9th
- Week 3 July 16-18th. Advanced Shooting and Skill Clinic (3 days): Boys and Girls Entering Grades 3-9. This program is for more advanced players who want to focus on offensive skill development, and have a strong desire to improve. This will be a face paced clinic, with the focus on advanced individual skill work, specifically, shooting, ball handling, passing and offensive creativity.

We are seeking teen artists to create Summer Reading logos for our teen program to fit the theme "A Universe of Stories." Winning artwork will be featured on Team buttons, flyers, etc. Winning artist(s) will receive a $20 gift card to an art supplies store. Entries accepted through April 12.
