Class News!
Ms. Gaston's PK Class
Welcome to Pre School!
Hi! I hope you are ready for a fun adventure this year! This year we will be working closely with literacy developing our phonemic awareness skills as we prepare to become eager readers, as well as our social and motor skills. We will be learning as a team everyday and it is imperative we have our parents' support! I encourage parent involvement as much as possible and wish to serve as a great example for your child this year. I'm so excited for our journey together this year!
Environment
In my classroom, I plan to create an environment where students can express themselves and interact with other each other, enhancing their knowledge in multiple areas. I plan to work with each student individually as much as possible in order to learn what each student individually needs. Together, we will have a smooth and successful year!
Activities
Around the classroom there are opportunities for students to grow cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally. Active learning is practiced here where students learn kinesthetically, visually and auditory through discovery and choice. Group activities will also be incorporated ti help students interact with another another and develop social as well as problem solving skills. Hands on activities are done daily to ensure meaningful learning.
End of Year
By the end of the year, I hope your child is a stronger speaker, reader, writer, thinker and friend. I hope they develop strong a sense of self, is confident in their ideas and has the attitude of a life-long learner.
