Before 9/11
Before 9/11 the wold trade centers were the tallest buildings in the U.S. They were also called the twin towers. Each of the towers had 110 stories 50,000 workers and around 200,000 visitors daily.
The Attacks
There was at least four planes that we know of that got hijacked and crashed. The first plane hit the North tower at 8:56 am. The second plane crashed at 9:03 am into the South tower. The third plane hit the pentagon at 9:37 am. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It could have been aiming for the White House, U.S capital, the camp David presidential retreat in Maryland, or one of several nuculear power plants along the eastern seaboard.
Thank you
During just the two tower attacks not counting the other two crashes there were over 3,000 people that died and over 343 firefighters and police. About 189 people died in the third crash and everyone that was involved in the fourth crash died.
