Volunteer Spotlight
Pack 290 Cubmaster - Ryan Gilmour
I was born and raised in Fayetteville, AR (GO HOGS), got married and moved down to Frisco in 1998. I am a director of application development for a local consulting company and really enjoy what I do. Ask me about it some time. I have a wonderful wife, Kellee, of 18 years and we have loved calling Frisco our home for almost two decades. We have two kids, Jillian (6) and Caleb (9) who both go to Corbell Elementary. Caleb is a member of Den 5 and a Bear. We have been a part of Pack 290 for 3 years now and have enjoyed all the people we have met and been around. I have some big shoes to fill in regards to the previous two Cub Masters who took the pack to this point and I am excited to be able to give back to the group that has provided such a wonderful program for my son. I am really looking forward to helping this pack continue to grow and prosper and find its way as new boys, parents and families join our ranks. I know it will take on the personality of all of us as we help the boys learn the building blocks of becoming young men and growing into Boy Scouts and ultimately responsible adults.
I am really looking forward to this opportunity to support all the dens, den leaders, parents and boys. I want say thanks to the pack committee who are the real heroes of this thing. Without them the pack doesn't go. Shameless plug but there really are some meaningful volunteer opportunities to "dip a toe in the water". I promise the water is warm. :) When I first started I was nervous to do anything, beyond getting Caleb to meetings, with all of life's commitments. But I found a hour here and a few emails from time to time helped my den leader. Every little thing does help. Please consider it.
If anyone has any questions or wants to talk more, please let me know. Call, text, email, or we can find a time to meet in person.
Thanks,
Ryan Gilmour - Cub Master
