Themes: Show n Tell, Water Days, Feelings, and Fairy Tales
The first few weeks of school have been filled with learning the routines, rules, and how to get along with others. We are working hard at learning about ourselves and how we act at school. This week we will have WATER DAYS. Please send your child in their swim suit, with a change of clothes and sunscreen already applied. Send in a towel and shoes that can get wet. MARK THEIR NAME ON ALL ITEMS J Next week, we are talking about our feelings and how we cope with different ways we feel.
Don’t forget to do a background check so you can join us as a parent volunteer in the classroom. Your help is always appreciated and the kids love when parents are able to come in and see what they do at school! Once the background check is complete, you can sign up in our parent helper book. The book is always available whenever you need to sign up!

*Please keep the blue folder in your child’s book bag. We use the folder daily to send information to and from school. Any information, art projects, etc. that pertain to our class will be put in the blue folder. We are teaching responsibility with use of the folders. You can send tuition payments in the child’s folder or drop it off in our tuition “drop box” located at the office window.
AT HOME...
Play “I Spy” to locate various colors around the house. Ask your child to locate colors that are the same and then different to reinforce activities we have been doing at school.
Duckling Shirts
Duckling shirts are available to order! We are sending the order forms home this week! We will have a designated week each month for the children to wear their duckling shirts!
Social Skills Curriculum
One of the most important skills your child will learn in preschool is how to be social with their peers and cooperate with others. We are starting a new program in our classroom entitled, “Second Step-Social Skills Curriculum”. Since the beginning of school, we have spent time learning how to listen at circle time, how to welcome new friends into our classroom, and discussing what we like best about school. Ask your child about our newest friend, Max! We will be sending home new information about this exciting program soon!
