2023-2024 Cognia Parent Survey
Your opinion matters! Each year Dune Lakes Elementary collects data and input from stakeholders regarding its overall climate and culture. Parent feedback is important and serves as an important starting point for setting yearly goals and focuses for improvement. It is important for us to collect feedback from as many stakeholders as possible in order to ensure the most accurate picture of our school's strengths and weaknesses. We are asking that you take a moment to complete the brief survey linked below.

FIELD DAY 2024!
Parents Welcome
We welcome parents to come watch our annual field day on Friday, April 19th!
Please have your child wear their class shirt so they will be easy to locate when you arrive. Please park at the Walton Sports Complex behind DLE and enter through gate at rear of campus. As a reminder, parents are not allowed inside main building unless screened and visitor badged by front office. Although we discourage early check outs, please have your child take their backpack to the field for when they sign out to avoid front office congestion of sign outs. Popsicles will be provided for students after games are completed.
K-2 Field Day 8 AM to 10 AM
3-5 Field Day 12 PM to 1:30 PM
Attendance and Tardies
Help your child finish the year strong!
Please help your child finish the year strong! Many teachers are completing their final standards and are beginning to review previous content in preparation for testing. Attendance is critical during these last weeks.
Starting the day on time is also important. Many classes begin their day with phonics or reading instruction. 5-10 several days a week adds up and can impact students long term. Additionally, the state FAST testing window opens in May. If your child arrives once testing has already began, they will have to wait in the office until their class has completed the test. They will then need to make up the missed test and make-up day.

2nd Grade Crowns Book of the Year!
It’s official! The “Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig” has conquered the field and been selected as “Book of the Year” by Dune Lakes 2nd grade students! Students and staff read through a selection of Florida BEST books as part of March “Book Madness” to reach this moment. Readers are leaders at DLE!
Special Olympians!
This past week students in Mrs. Brooks' and Ms. Romanski's Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classrooms participated in the Special Olympics! Dune Lakes students lined the halls in a send off to support, love, and encourage them!
It's Market Day!
Need a bookmark, a bracelet, or some home-made slime? Students in 1st grade had an exciting "Market Day" as they learned some basics of economics. Students took on the roles of producers and consumers while selling their products to one another. It was exciting to see the creative and unique products created by students and their families.
