The Odyssey
March 22,2024
From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, which is my favorite time in the liturgical calendar. Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday, all include important parts of Jesus' journey to his ultimate sacrifice and dying on the cross for our eternal salvation. Each of the masses celebrate different parts of Jesus final days:
Palm Sunday: We celebrate Jesus returning to Jerusalem on a donkey fulfilling many different prophecies.
Holy Thursday: We celebrate the Last Supper and Jesus washing of the feet. This day also is the birthday of our Priest, as the first Holy Mass of Jesus turning bread into His body and wine into His blood for the apostles. The Blessed Sacrament is taken out of the tabernacle until the Easter Vigil Mass. The tabernacle is empty until we celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
Good Friday: We mourn the death of Jesus. We honor the cross that Jesus dies on. This mass is one of the most somber masses in our faith.
I hope to see you at one of the masses!
In Christ-
Mr. Lee

Scripture of the Week:
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Cor 4:48
Prayer of the Week:
Guide us, Lord, in our envisioning process upon which we have embarked. Help us to see more clearly the paths you call us to follow. Give us, we pray, the spiritual gifts to faithfully answer your call to make disciples, share the Good News, and be your loving hands reaching out to others in need.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Simone Gaspar if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
