Principal's Message
Dear Wildcats,
Can you believe it is already almost March? This month will be flying by for it is one of our most jam-packed months! We sure had fun this past week and so many things celebrated! Check out the great things happening at SSE through visuals, get inspired, and be UNSTOPPABLE!
This week's announcements are here for you.
- PLC: Objective for this week: PLC Thursday: Teachers will closely look at their units in the curriculum, based on recent mastery connect data/PSTAAR/PSA data revisit their roadmaps & refresh targeted workstations to personalize for SSE student's need. Questions to be answered: (1) Am I on target in my roadmap? If I am not, what plan do I have to catch up? If I am ahead, are there TEKs my students need reinforcement? (2) What do my workstations look like? Are they spiraling TEKS previously taught? Are they independently rigorous enough and do I have an accountability system in my workstations?
- Faculty PLC: This Wednesday, let us convene together to celebrate our TOY and our Counselors (it was counselor's week earlier in Feb.) with a little cake and punch. We will burn it off by revisiting our safety plans with simply getting to really know every nook and cranny of SSE. So put on your walking shoes- because we will be traveling all over SSE.
- TELPAS Calibration Sessions: Offered by the district March 1.
- K-2nd Grade: Action required- ensure that weekly your math & science checkpoints are in for mastery connect. Report out how student mastery and what you are doing differently each week. Begin reporting your weekly guided reading lesson plans in your lesson plan folder.
- 3-5th Grade: Action required for reporting to Weaver. Gardner will be supporting you in the data management. Your job: Enter data into mastery connect. All teachers must do the following:
- Use Mastery Connect with Daily Warm-Ups or Exit Tickets.
- Use Mastery Connect with one weekly checkpoint (testing multiple readiness TEKS aligned to STAAR- use Mentoring Minds), scan no later than Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
- Look at data weekly (Fridays) and plan small group lessons based on data for the following week.
Again, thank you for all you do! You make me so proud!

Rachel Martinez

I know there are many unsung heroes out there that I did not get to mention. If you see someone out there going above and beyond and want me to recognize them on cat tracks, please send me an email.
PBIS and Project Class
Project Class: Mrs. Donnely and Mrs. Futch are continuing their classroom observations. Ask questions, have them model a lesson, have them model a strategy, ask for suggestions on strategies that you have tried, but have had little success. They are here to help and support you any way they can.
PBIS:
Continue working on cafeteria expectations and procedures with your class. The weekly paw count is low. Encourage your students and have discussions with them on what they can do this week to earn more paws.
