How did the dangerous jobs women did during WWII impact the Allies victory
Women contributed to the Allies victory by doing dangerous jobs in the field and by working on the home front.
Background information
That America did not originally want to go into the war but they ended up needing to. When they went into war there were not enough men so women had to work there were a lot of opinions and reason people and some woman did not want to work. There were lots of ways tho that the government of people got woman and employers to hire woman and to make them want to work.
The Main Idea
Working as a nurse abroad in WWII was really dangerous.
For example, some women served in the front line but 16 of those woman got killed by direct enemy fire. They had a lot of risk because they had to work by the battle they did not have a lot of protection.
During battle nurses used to do dangerous things like look out for enemies and some would be in the line of fire.
Even though they were put in danger, nurses played an important role in Allied victory because they would not only help people, but they would stand by the gates and watch for the enemies. Sometimes when they saw their enemies it was to late so sometimes they would be in the line of fire that why nursing was a dangerous job.
People who worked on the home front were very important like there was a group called the Royal Comets and they were woman in the Air Force auxiliary
Some got to do spitfires, new radar station to track incoming enemy bomber formations. A post in one of these stations could be very dangerous because this is were the first targets were for dive bombers.
The Government at first discouraged the woman who wanted to perform some kind of military service but then they soon realized the war was going to demand much more than expected.
The government was determined for no Auxiliary camp to be outside of Australia. They got more desperate so some woman would go and work overseas and work. Which was even more dangerous because it was not as safe.

Main Idea 2
One of the biggest secret weapons that the US had during WWII was our ability to out produce our enemies with war supplies thanks to women workers at home.
Some woman wanted to work and felt like they had to because of their patriotism they did not want the allied powers to fall.
Women did a lot when the men were gone fighting abroad. The men’s efforts at home in wartime vanished, as they were needed to serve. The doubt that women could not work just as well as men also started to vanish, although some were still critical of women’s abilities.
This shows not only women were capable in doing what was traditionally a man's job but also was critical to our abilities to outproduce our enemies. Because when men left they had to stop doing mechanical stuff, computers, building things, and ect. That’s when people realized woman could do there jobs but there were still people who didn’t like the thought of them working.
When the men left for war the systems in many homes were all out of place. Since the system was broken the woman had to do the men’s role and the daughters would keep after the farms.
This shows that since the system was not intact the roles in the workforce, home, and society were changed up. But even tho the system was messed up and woman and daughters even some men/boys had to adjust to new thing the people had adapted and did a great job in the economy.

Main Idea #3
People in WW ll had lots of opinions on woman working and it was a struggle for them and some other people there were many opinions and arguments over gender roles in working..
During WWll people worried that with all of the women working, it might take away jobs from men. However, as men left to fight, those jobs needed to be filled and women were the main population who were available to do so.
This shows not everyone supported women working. Women felt like they played just as much of an important role in WWII by filling all of the jobs so men could go fight.
Before world war 2 men were the providers for a family and woman were the caretakers.
During WWII all of this changed and a revolution in the work force was eventually seen. Women working outside the home rose exponentially and they thought they were there to stay. That’s what women thought but then the people decided to give the men back their jobs. Now this was a big conflict between men a woman and of course back then.
The war affected many people Over 55 million people were killed in the 6 year war. America wanted to stay neutral but they couldn’t any longer and over 16.1 million Americans served. This not only affected the economy but the woman especially.
Americans served in the war and that affected a lot back home like the woman and economy also started fights for jobs. That's when the woman were needed to be taken away for at home jobs because there were so little men and that's when America saw some of it's highest production rates in history. Even tho there were some of the highest rates they were still doubted.
Women workers had it hard because they had lots of pressure on them and it was the first time they had to work with men.
They would have to a hard beating when it came to final assembly. The women would be stupid to know anything. The places do not always have places or roles for them. To many women they but a lot of time and effort in work and fitting into them they had to put up a fight.
Some women would show up for factories jobs and get denied equal pay. Before the war the was two different groups of jobs male and female which would pay the female less money.
Some union officials attacked these classifications and demanded equal pay for equal work. These officials were not interested in securing pay. There was also the worry of the veterans coming back and having no job or less pay because woman would have it or be paid equally.
When America went into war drastically it was bad for the economy and the nation immediately needed more from the men and woman.
Since the women's participation in the war effort was essential for an Allied victory, gender roles were dramatically altered.
Main Idea #4
Women were worried that they would be told they were less feminine if they worked so people campaigned to get people to work and be more okay with the idea.
When America had to utilize all its assets including woman Germany thought that that was insane. That we'd give our woman to make them work.
This shows how the US already had an advantage over Germany by wanted to include women in the fight.
Not all women were able or willing to work during WWII, and some people viewed girls who stayed home as being more feminine than women who worked.
That's when the government decided to put up pictures of pretty women working and looking good. One of the girls asked to model was Rosie, she did not know that she would end up becoming a spokesperson for woman until her poster was up.
American woman played an important role in world war 2. They had to let their husbands, friends, and sons go of two war.
Some woman even gave their lives. The united states quickly committed itself to the Japanese attack on pearl harbor. That commitment meant giving and utilizing all of America's assets - woman included.
