Principal's Message
The Tennessee Department of Education has released its annual list of Reward Schools, which recognizes the top five percent of schools in the state for annual growth (progress measured by school-wide value-added data) and the top five percent for academic achievement (performance measured by overall student achievement levels) under the State of Tennessee’s accountability system. Each year, the Tennessee Department of Education recognizes Tennessee schools that have shown the most progress or performance year-over-year alongside the schools with the highest achievement or value-added data.
We are thrilled to announce that Holston View Elementary is a Reward School for the 2019-2020 school year! We celebrated on Wednesday with Kona Ice for every student!
Although we have celebrated this week, there is no doubt it has been a difficult two weeks for the Holston View teachers, staff, and students. We have seen a dramatic increase in Covid-19 in our community and within our school. Please know we are doing all we can to help Covid stay out of our school. I am so humbled by the outpouring of support from families during this time. Everyone has pulled together and reached out with ideas, suggestions, and offers of help so we can end this crisis as soon as possible. Holston View families are the BEST! We are happy to announce that we are now able to test students who present with Covid symptoms. This will be a game-changer for us! Please see the flyer below for further information. If you believe your child has had a possible Covid contact, please let us know and we can provide you with options to best serve your student.
