BRAHMA BULL-etin!
SUN the 5th through SAT the 11th

Brahma Nation,
We had another great week at The Ranch, even through the weather interruptions, we made it a success. A big shout out goes to, in no particular order;
- Girls Varsity Basketball for making the playoffs!
- Swim for their State Bound Girls relay team and individual Girl swimmers!
- Wrestling for sending 6 wrestlers to Regionals next week, 4 boys and 2 girls!
- the Scholastic Art contestants and for bringing home 50% of all the awards NEISD was presented!
- For the 7 Orchestra musicians for qualifying for the State UIL contest!
- the JV Girls Basketball team on the cusp of an UNDEFEATED season!
- and so much more, just keep reading! So PROUD of Brahma Nation!
Last week we sent out an email detailing the process for requesting a chromebook for student use. The letter was very explicit on what the Chromebook can and can't be used for. The accessibility of the device is very different from the last time we provided access. If you are choosing to checkout a device out, please make sure to complete the purchase of insurance through the School Cash Online, and keep a digital or hard copy of your receipt. You will need that receipt when you pickup your device.
A week ago today, NEISD hosted the One Singular Sensation spirit event. This is an opportunity for every NEISD high schools' Dance, Drill, Pep, and Cheer group to perform for parents and the community. It was awesome to see all our District schools but I believe, and I might be a little biased, MacArthur was the BEST!
Black History Month is a time to celebrate the contributions, achievements and cultural heritage of African Americans. As high school students, it is important to understand the significance of this month and the history that it represents. By recognizing and learning about the struggles and triumphs of African Americans throughout history, students can gain a greater appreciation for the diversity of our country and the impact that people of all backgrounds have had in shaping it. By engaging in events and activities related to Black History Month, students can also develop a deeper understanding of social justice issues and the importance of equality and inclusivity in our society. So, let's embrace the spirit of Black History Month and take the opportunity to learn, grow, and appreciate the rich and diverse history of African Americans. Make sure to stop by our library for different activities and events, additional information can be found under our library section.
Lastly, if you have pictures or scores or results to share, please send them to me via email, jherna20@neisd.net, and I will do my best to use what we can. Thanks!
Good luck to Cheer as they take off for Nationals this week! Bring it home ladies!
Let's have another great week.

The ASVAB Info Session has been rescheduled to Wednesday 8th due to the district closures this past week. Our Coast Guard Recruiter will be giving a presentation to 11th and 12th grade students who are thinking of taking the ASVAB. The presentation will be in the Library during 4th period. It will be about general information about the ASVAB as well as dispelling any myths or rumors about it with a time set for questions. You will also get the opportunity to register to take the exam during this session.
Remember that the ASVAB is not just for joining the military. It is an aptitude test that can give you information about what career fields and/or college majors where you would find success. If you are unsure about taking the ASVAB, what you want to study in college, or which career field you want to look to work in, I highly recommend joining the presentation.
If you are interested in attending this presentation, please fill out the form below. Students that have already signed up for the February 15th ASVAB do not have to fill out this form. You will be invited to the presentation without this form.

Creative Arts | Scholastic Art & Writing Competition
A huge congratulations to all those that competed in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition and received an award! This competition is really competitive and is very difficult to get keys. Last year the Scholastic Awards received nearly 260,000 entries nationally and 20,000 entries were from the remote programs alone. Out of all this artwork only 5% receive Gold Keys. This year out of the 67 awards that went to North East schools I'm proud to announce that MacArthur received 32 of those!!
Can't spell MacARThur without ART!
