Do you like humid subtropical climates? Well, if you do, Atlanta, Georgia is the place for you! With the temperature highs of 72 degrees to the lows of 28 degrees, Atlanta is a large city filled with clouds and rain. Atlanta is not always like this though, this is the type of temperatures it would get in late winter (current season there). The winds are usually about 2-10 mph which usually directs north. Residents of Atlanta call it “rainy and cloudy”. Although the there is usually 52%-72% chance of rain during late winter, the humidity is still 55%-82% and does fluctuate. Humidity is good so that its not very very cold, but still moist. Although Atlanta gets rain, it’s still a very cool place to visit! Atlanta also gets some drizzles of snow over the winter. Atlanta also has lots of tourist attractions such as the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium!

Weather Talk
I contacted my sister, Noureen, who has lived there for 2 years. The weather I predicted was fairly close to the actual weather it was which meant Atlanta has very consistent weather. Since the latitude of Atlanta is 34 degrees, it is closer to the pole, not the equator. With this being, Atlanta has the prevailing winds that affect the area called southwesterly winds. Atlanta is not prone to hurricanes because it is not around a large body of water which makes Atlanta more dry and humid because there are no oceans near. Tornadoes are prone everywhere but Atlanta is very likely to get tornadoes. In the spring, the tornadoes are associated with the clash between warm and moist air masses and cool air masses. Atlanta gets tornadoes because the El Nino-La Nina weather cycle that heavily influences the weather, is stuck in neutral. If Atlanta was more inland, it would be more prone to rain and hurricanes.
