Advisors of the Month
As another month comes to an end, we have some new Advisors of the Month to crown. Based on student nominations, the October Advisors of the Month are:
6th Grade- Ms. Willett! Her students say...
"She makes advisory very enjoyable with charades and other games we play. She talks about stuff we need to know in life like self care and always listens to her students' ideas."
7th Grade- Mrs. Bickmann! Her students say...
"She lets us have an opportunity to share who we are and what we like. She also helps us understand better ways to communicate and learn to work as a team with the advisory class. On Tuesdays, she gives us 5 minutes to relax or meditate to refresh our minds. She helps us stay organized on Work-It-Out Wednesdays. She makes us feel safe!"
8th Grade- Mr. Wenz! His students say...
"He always makes sure that our class discussions are on topic and stay moving. When we are debating something in class, he always hears everyone's side and makes everyone feel as though they are heard. When I was absent for a few days he sent me a picture of a paper I was given from Student Council to let me know I got in, which was really thoughtful of him!"
Our Advisory program could use your help! The goal of Advisory is to help build community within the school while also helping students build valuable life skills. We are often looking for new materials in order to help facilitate different aspects of the program. Please visit our Amazon wish list if you would like to contribute!
