E-Waste and Paper Shredding Collection Event This Friday

This Friday, November 2, from 7:30am to 1:00pm, in the first floor of the parking garage, we will be hosting an almost free electronics collection and shredding event for all students, faculty, and staff.
The only items that will cost to dispose are old style TV's and CRT computer monitors at twenty five cents per pound. (Flat panel TV's and monitors are free.)
Guidelines:
Anything with a plug EXCEPT air conditioners, microwaves, dehumidifiers, major appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers etc.), fluorescent and CFL bulbs.

The next FREE RAD class starts on Tuesday, October 30th in the Wellness Center Batting Cages. Classes are Tuesday nights from 4:30p.m.-6:00 p.m.
October 30th, November 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th, attendance at all is preferred. Bring your friends! This is a women's only self defense course where you will come out feeling empowered and have the confidence to hold your own in an attack.

The production runs Nov. 1, 2, and 3 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available through VPABoxOffice@worcester.edu, (508) 929-8843 or at the door. Tickets cost $14 general public, $10 senior citizens and $7 students.
Toy and Art Supply Drive

Help us collect toy and art supplies for Tatnuck Elementary School here in Worcester! From October 29 to November 30 we are collecting puzzles, legos, blocks, art supplies, etc for the students to use during their morning and afternoon programs. Keep a look out for boxes in Sullivan, the Library, Sudent Center, and S-218D.

Auditions for music lessons for the spring 2019 semester take place Nov. 13, 3 - 5 p.m. Students must apply online at www.worcester.edu/VPA. To submit a video audition, instead of an in person audition, or to ask questions, email Prof. Kyle Martin at kmartin@worcester.edu. Lessons available in guitar, piano, strings, voice, brass, winds, percussion and more.

As you think about registration for next semester, please consider BI-130 Field Biology: Dominican Republic Spring Break 2019 as a course. This course meets 4 times during the semester and includes a 9-day field experience in the Dominican Republic during the March Spring Break. For all majors except Biology, it counts either an NSP-Lab requirement or as GP (Global Perspectives) requirement for LASC and also as part of a Global Studies Concentration.
