Ms. Alexander's American History classes are currently studying the Civil Rights Movement. We are learning the causes, effects and major historical events surrounding the movement. Topics of study are the Emmett Till case, Rosa Parks, Montgomery Bus Boycott, March on Washington, Civil Rights Act, Malcom X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and forms of protest.
Following our unit on the Civil Rights Movement, we will be studying the conflict in Vietnam. In world cultures classes, each student is completing a culture presentation on an assigned country in Europe. Each student is researching and presenting the elements of culture which include: form of government, current leader, economic imports and exports, geography, food, art, language, cultural events, biological interests, social order, and major historical events.
