Spring means....Bike Club!
Welcome to a new season of EHMS Bike Club! To start, here are the basics to help you plan...

-When? PRACTICES on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April-May from 3PM - 4:30PM (weather permitting). Those who race will practice twice a week. Those not racing will be assigned either Tuesday or Thursday. The RACE schedule will be forthcoming.
-Where? PRACTICE mostly EHMS trails, sometimes offsite (Airline Trail, Hurd State Park) Bikes can be locked up at the bike rack during the day or dropped off after school in the back lot. RACES at various locations around the state. **Members are responsible for obtaining their own rides to offsite locations from family members or carpooling**
-What? Students will need a helmet, gloves, water bottle and mountain bike (not a BMX or road bike). If students do not have access to a mountain bike we have loaners to borrow.
-How much? No cost! Even race licenses and entry fees are covered by the Club.

8th Grade Capstone Support!

A Look Into Our Panther Community!
Students in 7th grade Technology Education have been learning some of the basics of structural engineering. They designed their own truss bridges using a software program developed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Now they are constructing their designs using only balsa wood and glue. Eventually, we will put their work under stress on a load tester to see how much weight each of their designs will hold. This project requires creativity, critical thinking, thoughtfulness of design, patience, precision, and resilience- all excellent skills that the students will use throughout their lives.
7th grade is wrapping up their reading unit on essential research skills. Students chose topics and formed groups to conduct research in order to become experts. For their final project, the groups prepared a presentation protest in the form of a talk show to spread the word and teach others about their cause. Some topics included environmental activism, the Ukrainian/Russian War, and immigration!
A BIG congratulations to our cast and crew on the success of last weekend's production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. Our talented students did a phenomenal job in every performance. Thank you to Mrs. Rahusen and Mrs. Werme for their time and dedication for another successful year. Also, thank you to the EHMS PTO for their help and support during the weekend. Lastly, thank you to all the families on your support and the amazing turn out we had last weekend!
Our cast enjoyed viewing all the character coloring pages that students in the lower elementary schools created! Also, the cast meet and greet for our younger viewers was a great success!
Congratulations to our Band and Chorus students on their performance in the Step Up Concert. Below are some pictures of the event at the high school and the link to the live performance!
A leprechaun made an announcement today that shamrocks were hiding in classrooms! With our next PBIS activity today, students who were able to spot the hidden shamrock in their classroom came down to the guidance suite to get a prize!
Our 7th grade honors math classes are working on drawing, interpreting, and writing equations to represent situations with unknow quantities. They use tape diagram with equations to represent each situation.
Congratulations to Avery Guild! Avery was our finalist for our first ever EHMS Spelling Bee. She participated at the Regional Scripps Spelling Bee at the University of West Harford. Avery Guild did an amazing job placing 5th! Congrats to her and all our grade-level students who participated in our spelling bee. We look forward to next year's competition!
Congratulations to our EHMS girl's soccer players who recently competed in the DPL summit in Dallas Texas. This is a national event showcasing all the girls soccer teams in that league. Despite crazy weather that canceled many games, they wound up winning one and tying another. It was a great experience for them! Congratulations to Quinn, Cassie, Hadley, Alexis, Ava, Addison and Abigail!

A phone call is appreciated, but only an email to our attendance inbox or written note can officially excuse absence 1 through 9. Below is our attendance email:
