A Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
Thank you for making last night’s Open House a great success. The faculty, staff, and administration feel the importance of being able to build a relationship not only with our students but with you as our parents. If you were unable to attend, I would encourage you to reach out to your student’s teachers as they are your first point of contact. We are committed to working with you to ensure that we provide the best possible education for your students.
I have included some pictures of our students as they go through a typical day of learning. Our newest JAGS, Class of 2023, have found their place here at SPHS, and are already making a positive impact on our school. Also, our student body, during AO, is participating in the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) program. Faculty will be selecting students who exemplify J.A.G.S- Join...Accomplish….Grow….Support in efforts to make Spain Park a better place. Please ask your students to share this worthwhile program with you.
This week’s spotlight is the Pride of the Park Marching Band. Take a moment and watch this impressive interview. Pride of the Park Interview
Also, congratulations to Coach Kellye Bowen and the Volleyball Team for getting off to a great start with their big win on the road at James Clemens High School.
I am providing a few dates for your planning purposes and will provide more details as the event draws closer.

The optional PSAT test for 10th and 11th graders is now open for registration until September 9th. Beginning Monday, August 26, you may pay $17 on my school fees, bring exact cash, or check (made out to SPHS) to Ms. Gilmore in the Guidance Office. We are unable to accept late payment as PSAT has a cut off date to order materials. Registration will close Monday, September 9th at midnight. After your payment is received, you are signed up to take the PSAT -- your payment reserves your seat. The test will be given on Wednesday, October 16th at 8:15 am. There are no refunds if you are unable to take the test. Taking the PSAT in 10th grade can be a valuable testing experience and tell you where you need to improve for junior year, especially if you're aiming for National Merit. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade may enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. College Board's other scholarship partners also use the PSAT/NMSQT to find students qualified to apply for their programs. These organizations give out over $255 million in combined awards every year.
