Itslearning Expectations
It is that time of year again, where Itslearning Expectations need to be revisited. Like we discussed at the beginning of the year, please make sure your plans are linked weekly for parents and administration to see. Resources should be organized and easy to access for students. Below is what we discussed at the beginning of the year:
Every teacher will maintain an itslearning course for all courses taught. (Unused courses should not remain active for students-they can be merged or archived.)
Course Resources should be organized in folders (Subjects, Units, Topics, etc…)
Weekly lesson plan summary should be posted to the planner with enough details to explain what is happening in class that day/week.
New plan at least weekly.
Supporting materials should always be attached to the plan. (Absent students should be able to find what they need in the planner.)
If you need any assistance with any of this, please contact Carol Ann ASAP.
For more information, please view the presentation that was shared at the beginning of the year. Forsyth County Itslearning Expectations
Dreambox Competition
At our last Leadership Team Meeting, teachers suggested turning Dreambox into a little friendly competition to help improve usage schoolwide. Each month, teachers will log their average usage for the month on a Google Sheet. The homeroom with the most usage will be announced on GMM at the end of each month. Winners will receive an award to hang outside of their classroom PLUS, 20 house points!
Don't remember how to find your classroom usage? Check out these directions:
Action Item:
Fill out Dreambox Form by Tuesday, Dec. 17th.
Indoor Recess Technology Reminder
Indoor Recess Reminder:
As you know, technology is to be used at school for educational purposes only at school. To prevent students from using inappropriate apps or games, we are going to continue our rule with no technology during indoor recess.
There is one exception: if the teacher is leading a whole group game, and strictly monitoring the activity, this is acceptable since the teacher is involved.
Please let Carol Ann know if you have any questions!
Parent Resource
Here’s a great resource for parents; it provides helpful tips and strategies for a variety of issues: children throwing tantrums, divorce, trauma, developmental milestones and so much more! Families may be experiencing things they don’t care to share with the school but are in need of tools and interventions to try at home.
