Those Darn Squirrels!
Students worked in groups to test homemade catapults to try to get their squirrels to a target. Students in grades 2-5 designed and constructed their own catapults. Kindergarten and grade 1 students selected a previously constructed catapult to test. (Note: despite the fervent wishes of the students, no live squirrels were used in this project).

Unplugged Lessons K-2
We will be using picture books feature Ruby, a young girl who loves solving puzzles. These stories help to introduce the idea of computational thinking without the use of technology. Ensuring students have and understanding some basic concepts in computer science will support their learning as we move on to the use of devices such as the Chromebook.
