6th Grade Celebration
It is almost that time! Our sixth graders are going to be Junior High students in just one short month and we want to celebrate the past two years with them! On May 31st we will have our first ever 6th Grade Celebration Night from 5:00-7:00 at Greene. This event has been designed by a select group of 6th grade students after receiving input from their peers. It will include bounce houses, outdoor games, indoor games, pizza, snacks, cake, and DJ Spicy Noodle!! Please complete this short form to let us know if your child will be attending.
Though the evening is for students only, we will need parent volunteers to make this event a success. Please sign up to volunteer using this link.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Tricia Constable (constablep@sycamoreschools.org).

Greene PTO hosting MPH Family Night
Since our regularly scheduled PTO meetings have had to remain virtual this school year due to parking/construction we have been brainstorming other ways to get everyone together at least ONCE before the end of the year!
Please stop by MPH on Thursday, May 19th to meet current Greene families, PTO Executive board members (current and next years), Greene Staff, and current fourth grade (incoming fifth grade) families are encouraged to attend as well!
The PTO will provide light appetizers but we hope families will stay and eat in support of Sycamore Bridges as well!
Mark your calendars and we can’t wait to see everyone at MPH!

Schedule Updates for Next School Year
Each student has a music bell. During the music bell students who take band, choir & orchestra classes will meet A-D days. Students who take 2 music classes will split time between the 2 classes during the A-D rotation. General music meets 2 days each A-D rotation and is paired with an additional day of STEAM and an additional day of PE. These classes (General Music, STEAM, and PE) are scheduled together, with no substitutions.
The second special bell is filled with Art, PE , Multimedia, and STEAM that each meet one day per A-D rotation.
Below you will see a sample schedule showing the new format.
Media Center Dates
May 17th: Last day in the Media Center before construction begins
Are you planning to move out of the district before next school year?
Dear Parent:
As we plan for the next school year, it is important for us to know how many pupils plan to attend Sycamore Schools.
If you know that you will be moving out of the Sycamore School District, or that your child will be attending a private or parochial school and will not be attending Sycamore Schools next Fall, please complete the form attached below and return it to the Greene School office by Tuesday, May 17th. You do not need to send in a form if your 6th grader is just moving up to the Sycamore Junior High as a 7th grader. If you plan to withdraw from Sycamore Schools, it is important that you notify the school office so that we may process records for your child’s new school. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Matthew A. Tudor
Principal

Greene Walking Program
The PTO has started the Greene Walking Program. The program is a great opportunity for students to get some exercise, burn off some energy during recess, and earn prizes at the same time. The program will be available every Tuesday and Thursday during recess, starting on March 1st.
All you have to do to participate is add your name to the google doc that was included in the email you received about the program.
There is no obligation to walk each week, but that is how we will keep track of the laps you have walked. 7 times around the track is 1 mile. For the first mile you walk, you will receive a sneaker keychain. Different prizes will be given out for each mile after that.
There will be a parent volunteer at recess keeping track of your laps so make sure you check in with him/her after each lap. Simply give them your name each time you pass and start earning prizes!
So grab a few friends, enjoy some fresh air and exercise and have fun!
Greene Walking Program - Parent Volunteers Needed
We are looking for parent volunteers to help with the Walking Program to take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during recess, starting March 1st. Volunteers will help tally laps walked and hand out prizes during 5th and 6th grade recesses. Please see sign up genius below or contact Erica Armstrong ericaarmstrong3@gmail.com or Melissa Moeddel melissamoeddel@gmail.com for more information.
