From the Principal
Hello, Midland Mustang Families!
As we get more accustomed to our learning from home, I want to share with you a few important updates. Our teachers have been working hard to connect with all our students, but we have still not made a connection with everyone. If you are receiving this message and you have not yet communicated with your child’s teacher, please do so this week. Starting this week, our teachers are taking attendance once each week to make sure our students are engaged in learning at some level. In the coming weeks, the work will be specific to learning standards to get students ready for the next grade level, so we want to be sure we have everyone with us!
If you do not have a computer or access to wi-fi, we do have a paper packet option, starting this week. Kindergarten and First grade students will all receive a packet in the mail (maybe you have already received it)! This work is for students to practice, whether they have a computer or not. For grades 2-5, we will have paper packets available for those students who do not have a laptop or internet connection. We will distribute these packets this Wednesday, April 22nd from 11:00-12:00, in conjunction with the lunch distribution. Again, these packets are the learning resources for our 2nd through 5th grade students who do not have computer access. Distribution of these packets will be in the bus zone area, next to the lunch distribution.
Many of our teachers have sent a schedule of when they will be connecting with their students online. I encourage you to help your child connect, to keep the learning at home going. We are formalizing our weekly schedule so you always know what the week of learning will look like for your child.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, or call our school office at 253-298-4500.
Have a great week,
~Mrs. Dawson
