Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Panther Fitness Challenge
Dear School Families:
What a fantastic day we had here at Prairie Point Elementary. The Panther Fitness Challenge was awesome! Our students had a blast, the support from our Home and School and volunteer parents was amazing and our teachers were leading the charge with enthusiasm! We are better together!
I would like to offer a sincere "thank you" to our parents and sponsors for supporting our school fundraiser. I am thrilled to announce that in addition to having an awesome day, we were able to raise $18,180.00 to support our school! Thank you for making this possible. It looks like Mrs. DeMont and I along with our Prairie Point staff will be putting on a talent show in November.
Thank you for all that you do to make Prairie Point a wonderful school community!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Groves
Kid's Triathlon
We had over 50 students participate in the kids' triathlon this past Sunday. They did a great job and battled through the heat. Good job Panthers!
We look forward to celebrating national walk to school month. Please join us every Wednesday in October and walk to school. Let's see which class can win the golden shoe award!

Box Top Collection October 6th
We are wrapping up National Box Tops Week! Please remember to ask neighbors and family if they have any Box Tops you can collect to benefit Prairie Point! There is also a Box Top app you can use to earn even more money for our school! Our first Box Top Collection Date for this school year is next Friday, October 6. Remember, the top class after each collection will be awarded the travelling trophy. At the end of the year, the top class will be awarded a special activity, so please continue to clip! We will collect again in January and April!
Great Art Volunteers Needed
Great Art is in need of volunteers in many classrooms. If you are unfamiliar with Great Art, it is a wonderful program, presented to your children each month. A volunteer (usually a parent) comes into the classroom to discuss a piece of art and do a small project. The art that is discussed is provided to you along with materials to do the small project (materials are located in a cabinet at the school). When it is your month to present, you will receive an email asking you to contact your child’s teacher to request the Great Art binder to be sent home with your child and to arrange a time to present the art to the class. The binder is filled with ideas to present the art. (No prior art knowledge is required!) You may use the ideas that are in the binder or you may use your own ideas. The presentation and project should only take about 30 min.
If you are interested in presenting, or have questions, please contact Candace Kelty at candacek1@comcast.net.
