Parent Input for 24-25
Parent Input Form for 24-25 School Year
Soon the Kendall staff will begin to develop class lists for the 2024-2025 school year. The following OPTIONAL form is an opportunity for you to share information you feel would be helpful in placing your child, so he/she can have the best year possible. Please know that our staff spends an extensive amount of time looking at each individual child's learning needs, skill levels, and social behavioral needs to create the best heterogeneous learning group and environment for them. If you feel you have information about your child's personality, social relationships, or other needs beyond what the current classroom teacher is aware of and that may help us in this process, please complete the following optional form NO LATER THAN APRIL 25TH, 2024.
When completing this form, please DO NOT REQUEST SPECIFIC TEACHERS or placements with friends. We place students based on instructional needs. If there has been a relationship between your child and another that may negatively impact your child's ability to focus on learning, you may request that they be separated and we will attempt to honor those requests.
Please know that we will make the best placement possible for each student to help them have a positive and successful school experience. Should you have any questions regarding completion of the form or the class list development process, you may contact Principal Breah Jerger at breah_jerger@ipsd.org.
Funding Proposal Informational Meetings
As you may have seen in the March 21 Superintendent's Message, District 204 will begin hosting a series of informational meetings to discuss funding of our Facilities Master Plan. The plan was presented and accepted by our Board of Education this past December. It identifies and prioritizes districtwide facility needs and proposed solutions. Throughout the plan there is a special focus on safety and security, reducing class sizes, building infrastructure, and classroom upgrades. The District will be gathering the community’s feedback on a funding proposal that may appear on the November 2024 ballot to address these important building and operating challenges, without imposing a net tax rate increase. Many months of planning have gone into this proposal, and we are excited to share it with you.
Community Informational Meetings will begin the week of April 15 at the following schools.
Monday, April 15, 7 PM - Neuqua Valley High School (LMC)
Tuesday, April 16, 7 PM - Waubonsie Valley High School (LMC)
Wednesday, April 17, 7 PM - Metea Valley High School (LMC)
Wednesday, April 17, 7 PM - Gregory Middle School (LMC)
Thursday, April 18, 7 PM - Hill Middle School (LMC)
For more information and additional meeting dates, visit www.ipsd.org/SaferStronger204.

Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent is an interactive presentation geared toward incoming kindergarten and first grade parents and guardians to better prepare them for this new transition in their child's life. The purpose of this presentation is to share what to expect as your child enters school full time and how parents can support their child’s emotional development throughout the early school years. A panel discussion among Indian Prairie School District 204 staff members will round out the evening.
Please note: This presentation is open to any IPSD 204 parent/guardian of an incoming kindergarten and/or first grade student. The information presented will not address any individual elementary school's policies or procedures.
The presentation will be offered both in-person and virtual. The content presented will be the same at both sessions.

Time: 6-7 pm
Location: Welch Elementary School, 2620 Leverenz Road, Naperville

Social Emotional Learning Night at Graham Elementary
Monday, April 29th we will be hosting speaker/author Brittany Scott for a night of social-emotional learning in action! Topics such as perseverance, having a positive mindset, and navigating the ups and downs of friendship are important but sometimes hard to conceptualize for children. Through interactive and hands-on activities families will have fun while exploring social-emotional skills. The whole family is invited to the event, but activities will be geared towards elementary students and their trusted adults. See the flyer for location and time.

PTA POINTS
Digital Citizenship FAMILY NIGHT
We had an amazing evening with Dr. Kristen. As an educator and now consultant she spoke on how to build healthy online habits. We had fun activity stations that had the kids engaged and working in groups. We had Read and Reflect, Privacy Hot Seat, and explored E-motions drawing up different scenarios. Thank you to all the families who showed up and Ms. Rhonda Jenkins for her support! Please encourage your children to pick up the many books we have bought on digital safety and well being and media literacy. Again this evening was made possible through the National PTA and AT&T grant.

We can't wait to see our 5th grade Patriots sporting this new apparel celebrating their grade level and classmates!
5th Grade Blast Off Party
Thanks to your generous financial support throughout the year, this is an experience our PTA is able to offer for FREE to Kendall 5th grade students as they “blast off” to middle school! You MUST register your student for this event. Last year, MANY families were disappointed to learn that their child could not participate because the registration deadline had passed. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late registrants as Rush Copley must have appropriate staffing for the evening. Don’t miss out! Register by April 22nd at bit.ly/5thGradeBlastOffRSVP2024.
Artsonia
Artsonia is the largest student art museum in the world!
Take a minute to connect online with your student’s unique Artsonia account and enjoy their artwork. Several artwork for this academic year have already been uploaded by our PTA volunteers and it is very exciting to appreciate the amazing creativity of the young minds.
By activating your online account, you will be able to...
● Receive notification of new artwork published for your child
● Approve comments left by family & friends
● Add "fan club" members for the artist
● Purchase memorabilia of your child’s artwork
● Support the Art Program at Kendall
If your student already has an account from Kendall you do not need to re-enroll for this year.
If your student already has a previous account from a different school within District 204 or a different School District, please reach out over email with your student’s name and the name of the previous school/school district and we will be able to transfer them over to Kendall.
