Reminders
Community Service
- Students in grades 9-12 need to complete 10 hours of community service for this school year. There are forms in the office for them to fill out and turn in to Mrs. Haase to record and keep track of. If students have not done this they should get started. Students that do not have 10 hours will have to attend school after it is let out to make up those hours.
Friday's for Seniors
- Seniors will have the opportunity to get into the workforce this spring. Seniors are going to be working in fields of interest to better their understanding of different industries and determine interest. It is great for our students to see if what they are looking at pursuing in the future is truly for them or if they need to start looking at other areas of interest.
School Nurse News
It’s cold and flu season. Just a few hints on when to keep your child home:
If they have a fever. Please keep them home until they are fever free for a full 24 hours.
The first day or two of a cold when they feel miserable and have a runny nose.
When they have a cough that is productive or that cannot be controlled with medication.
Nurse Beth will also be teaching our Freshman class CPR this month. Every year during the month of January she takes two class periods to teach this. Every student walks out of our doors having been part of CPR training.
SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS AND EARLY DISMISSALS
School cancellations, late starts, and/or early releases will be announced via the phone messaging system and also on the following radio stations: KNEN, Norfolk, KEXL/WJAG-Norfolk and WNAX-Yankton. If no report is heard, it can be assumed that school will be in session. Now is a great time to make sure that the school has accurate and up-to-date phone numbers for you. Please call Mrs. Haase to check your contact information if your number has recently changed.
While it is never an ideal situation, there are times that school may need to be released early due to an impending storm. Please take some time to develop a plan for your children to follow if school is ever released early for inclimate weather.
