Message from the Principals
A big thank you to everyone who helped with the Science Fair this past week. Our School Council was instrumental in planning and preparing for this event. Thank you to Melissa Dempsey and Diana Lebeaux for the considerable time they put in organizing and thank you to Shannon Semenza, Lauren Cassidy, Anne Craig and Chrystal Begay our School Council participants for their help as well. We also want to thank Officer Linstad, Sgt. Gougen, Officer Sullivan and of course Ozzie for being officials in addition to our teachers Anne Stagnone, Kim Lefebvre, Lisa Tice, Jackie Duncan and Jon Morris our Science Coordinator. A final thank you to our PTO and Nick Moretto for providing tables for the MANY projects. We also don't want to forget to thank all of the families who committed to supporting their student(s) in this endeavor. We had over 80 projects with close to 100 students participating, our most ever!
Our Scholastic Book Fair is rapidly approaching. In conjunction with our Book Fair we are hosting a Coin Drive as our kindness act for the month of March. The Coin Drive will run through next Friday. Please consider donating. The winning class will receive gift certificates to purchase additional classroom books.
There is always something happening at South Row!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

South Row Science Fair 2024!
Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
We are still seeing a steady stream of strep cases. It does not appear to be specific to a classroom or grade level. Strep can present in different ways. Sometimes small children complain of persistent abdominal pain or will have nausea and vomiting. Some children will present with a rash only or rash and fever.
GI illnesses (AKA the stomach bug) are still here too. If your student has had fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, they must be 24 hours symptom free without medication before they can return to school. If your child has persistent symptoms for greater than 1 week and I have not spoken with you, please reach out to me.
Lastly, if your student tests positive for Covid, please reach out to me. The student must stay home from school for 5 days. Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day of the positive test if the student does not have symptoms. The student returns to school on day 6.

Hopefully March will bring healthier days ahead!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Warmly,
Nurse V.

Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon!
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be running from March 11-15. Students will have an opportunity to shop for books during their regularly scheduled library time and families are invited to shop and play BOOKO (book fair bingo) during Family Shopping and Game Night on March 13th from 6-8pm. Shopping is not required to attend BOOKO, so feel free to come on down for a night of fun even if you will not be getting any books!
The Book Fair Committee is looking for volunteers to assist all student shoppers during the Book Fair, as well as help out during Family Shopping and Game Night. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4DAFAA29AAFFCF8-47892770-2024#/ All volunteers must have a valid CORI. Please note, if you are planning to come in to help just your own student, you do not need to sign up or have a CORI. You may come in during your student’s library time and sign in at the office.
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair is a much-loved South Row event and we look forward to another successful year of being able to support literacy in our community! More information about the Book Fair and Family Shopping and Game Night can be found in the flyer below and will also be sent home with students next week.
