Teacher Appreciation Week!
Greetings Parents,
We are so excited to see all our students for state testing this month! Please see below for reminders and information about test days. We will see 3rd graders Monday!
Please check the calendar to see which days your child is testing. It is important that students arrive to school on time for testing between 8 - 8:15 am. If students arrive after testing begins, they will need to stay the entire school day or come an extra day to stay on track with the schedule.
Students should get plenty of rest the night before testing.
In-Person Learner Arrival and Dismissal
In-person learners will follow their regular drop-off and pick-up routines.
Virtual Learner Arrival and Dismissal for Testing Days
Arrival: All virtual learners coming to campus for testing should arrive in the car line which starts at Cooper and Young. Go west on Young on the school side of the street where students will be greeted, temperatures will be checked before exiting the car, and they will line up on the sidewalk on the east side of the school. Staff will be there to help students locate where to line up.
Dismissal: Parents may pick up students when testing is completed for the day. Please see the pick-up times below for each day. If virtual learners stay until the end of the school day, they will be picked up in the car line at 3:15. Same procedure for arrival. Car line forms going west in front of the school.
What to Bring on Test Day
- Students are required to wear a mask.
- School lunches will be provided to all students; however, students may bring a lunch from home if preferred.
- Students may bring a sealed water bottle.
- Students may bring a book to read on breaks.
- NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES are permitted to be used during testing. This includes smart watches. All SCS devices will be kept in backpacks until testing is completed for the day.
- Uniforms are not required for all virtual testers.
Covid-19 Safety Procedures
- All students will be screened upon arrival before entrance to the building. Any student with an elevated temperature or showing symptoms will immediately be escorted to the safe room where the parent will be contacted to retrieve the student.
- Masks must be worn on campus and in the building.
- Students will be distanced from other students.
Thanks again,
LaShanda Bell, Interim Principal

You can receive help by emailing PeabodyESdevicehelp@scsk12.org or calling the school at 416-4606. We will connect you with our school’s Microsoft Ambassador to help with reporting a device as lost, stolen or damaged, as well as any issues with Microsoft TEAMs or help with resetting a password.
The technology team will schedule you an appointment during the following times:
Monday 9:30-10:10 am
Thursday 12:50-1:30 pm
Friday 10:30-11:30 am
In order to receive a loaner device, the legal parent or guardian must be present. When you visit the school for your scheduled appointment time bring the following:
State issued ID
Device to be repaired
Charger for the device
A loaner device will be issued during your visit. School based repairs can take up to 3 days. If the school is unable to repair the device, a district IT representative will be notified to assist with the repair. Once the repair is completed, you will be called to pick up the device.
Also, please remember, you can find answers to most general questions on the SCS website, at scsk12.org/accessforall.
As always, we appreciate your partnership, and please know we are here to support you at Peabody.

AR Points! How high can you go?
GOAL: 12,000 points
Every year, the Peabody PTA holds the Cookie Dough Fundraiser! It's always a smashing success and our families typically clear $6,000 that goes directly to technology and the arts at Peabody. This year, though, the PTA has voted not to hold the sale due to COVID. We just can't figure out a safe way to do it.
The PTA has been supporting teachers and staff during this time of virtual learning -- buying stylus pens for K-2 to use with their tablets, microphones for teachers, we outfitted a new teacher/staff lounge for those working inside the school and teacher appreciation gifts!
We ask that if you can, donate to the Peabody PTA. You can just go to FriendsofPeabody.org and donate online! Any amount will be greatly appreciated and help us support our school... even when we can't be there!
