Student Spotlight
Mrs. Dubinsky taught us until October, then Mrs. Jordan came back. she came late because she had to take care of her baby. We had tons of fun with Mrs. Dubinsky.
We also had fun with VR’s (virtual reality- google expedition). We borrowed the VR’s from Mrs. Bongiorno’s class. Even Miss Oros' class got a turn too! Have you ever used VR's? In the VR’S we saw the earth and parts of the earth. That’s because in Social Studies we have been learning about the earth.
This week we also had a Bravery Assembly. We were excited to see all of the students that got awards.
Earlier this month we took a Math test using Edulastic online. Some of us liked it and others took a little longer to get used to it.
The picture to the right is of our classroom door. We decorated it with book recommendations for Fall Festival.

Math
We will be finishing up Module 2 within the next few weeks, and then move on to module 3.
Module 3: Multiplication and Division with Units of 0, 1, 6–9, and Multiples of 10
This 25-day module builds directly on students’ work with multiplication and division in Module 1. Module 3 extends the study of factors from 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 to include all units from 0 to 10, as well as multiples of 10 within 100. Similar to the organization of Module 1, the introduction of new factors in Module 3 spreads across topics. This allows students to build fluency with facts involving a particular unit before moving on. The factors are sequenced to facilitate systematic instruction with increasingly sophisticated strategies and patterns.
Reading
Writing
Students can also choose to write a piece for Griffin's Tale. We will be having an assembly in May where theater students will come to perform several skits based on writing that is turned in from students at Mark Twain. Writing pieces need to be turned in before Thanksgiving break.
Science
Students are about to begin a new journey as we explore plant and animal life cycles and animal’s social and group behavior. Our mission is to research an animal and its environment in order to create a diorama showing the plant and animal life cycles and the benefits of the animal living in a group.
Guiding Questions:
- What is the life cycle of an animal?
- What is the life cycle of a plant?
- How does an animal get food and defend itself?
