Bond 2022 Update -- December 2022
Belton ISD 2022 Bond: Check our progress!
Following voter approval of the 2022 Bond in May, Belton ISD has been diligently working to move forward with projects included in the bond proposal, ensuring projects are all delivered as efficiently as possible for our students while minimizing disruptions to the learning environments and maximizing taxpayer dollars.
In all, Belton ISD voters authorized $173,825,000 million in bond funding to address accelerated student growth and aging facilities, safety and security, and ensure student access to exceptional learning environments.
We are excited to share our progress and invite you to visit www.bisd.net/Bond_2022 to learn more about how we are delivering on our promises to the community.

Belton ISD names two new elementary schools funded by 2022 Bond Program
James L. Burrell Elementary named after local educator, Hubbard Branch Elementary located in Hubbard Branch subdivision
In November, the Belton ISD Board of Trustees took action to name two elementary schools included in the 2022 Bond Program. Construction of Burrell Elementary, Belton’s 12th Elementary School, is underway in the northern part of the district at 8104 Glade Dr. in Temple.
Hubbard Branch Elementary, the district’s 13th Elementary School, is in the design phase and will be located in the southern part of the district in the Hubbard Branch subdivision.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations Michael Morgan oversaw the name selection process. “I couldn’t be more proud of the quality and caliber of the names brought forth by the community. Any one of them would have been a thoughtful choice,” Morgan said. “The committee also demonstrated the utmost integrity and respect in following the naming process outlined in our board policy. I am grateful to them for volunteering their time for this important task.”
Opening dates for both schools are still being determined. A process to evaluate attendance zones is currently underway, with plans to bring a proposal to the board in February.
Strong Fiscal Management
Since voters approved the 2022 Bond in May, Belton ISD has actually LOWERED the tax rate by 2 cents! The August 2022 action by the Board of Trustees marks the fourth year in a row that Belton ISD adopted a decrease in the tax rate. Belton ISD is proud of our strong fiscal management, and appreciative of our community’s support. Together, we are making the #BeltonISDBond2022 a reality!
