Dear Lower El Families,
Keep “spreading the word” about our school - word of mouth = the best communication! Especially: Let folks know that it is FREE, & a PUBLIC school (many people have no idea!)

READ-A-THON EXTENDED!
Monday, May 13th Readathon Celebration Assembly: “top readers” from Lower El., Upper El., & Primary will duct tape Miss Denise to a wall!
Tuesday, May 7th: Field Trip -> Paradise Theater, to see “The Secret Garden”
Thursday, May 9th: Field Trip: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Crawford State Park.
Thursday, May 16th: 1:30 - 3 p.m.: spring music performance (in our gym)! Feel free to bring your friends & relatives to this wonderful event - Mark your calendars - See you there!
Friday, May 17th: Field Trip: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Montrose Rec. Center * Please note: We won’t be arriving back at school until c. 4:30 p.m.: Please plan for a late pick up, at the school, on this date!
Fri., May 24t Last Day of School **Early Release
Pioneer Days (w/ fireworks over Crawford Reservoir) = Thursday through Saturday, June 6 - 8, 2024. They have a fun, old-fashioned auction on the Friday night before (6/7), so consider donating to that (or attending… or both); the proceeds -> the fireworks display. Thank you for sending your children back, rested & refreshed, from the beautiful spring break!
Academics coming up:
Math:
-word problems without materials, bead frame multiplication, fractions, geometry
- graphing, multiplication in word problems (no materials), fraction addition/subtraction, 9xtables, 8xtables, geometry, dynamic subtraction without materials, long multiplication
- pictographs, fraction multiplication, coordinates, multi-step word problems
Language:
New Concept: Mechanics: Quotation Mark Key Experience
Vocab.: synonym/antonym analogies
Writing: Analogies in written endeavors, & “Mirror into my Future” – self-reflection, awareness of purpose & audience
Reading
-Continued HMH “Into Reading” scope & sequence: focus: phonics, vocabulary, fluency & comprehension;; HMH Growth Measure Assessment
