Popular Sovereignty
Popular Sovereingty is used in the Preamble of the constitutionn. It is a principle of govermnet in which the people rule the government.
Republicanism
Republicanism is the government principle of the poeple exersizing their right to vote for their political representatives. It is found in the Constitution of Article 4, Section 4.
Federalism
A system of government in which power is divided between central government and smaller political units, such as states. it is found in the Constitution in Article 2 section 1, and article 4.
Seperation of Power
The division of basic government roles into branches, meaning no one branch is given more power than the other. It is located in Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the constitution.
Checks and Balances
The three branches of government are seperate, but yet they rely on one another to preform work for the government. It is found in Article 1.
Limited Government
It means that everyone must follow the laws including powerful leaders and citizens. This is found in Article 1 Section 9.
Individual Rights
The Bill of rights garuntees certain individual rights or personal liberties and privledges to the citizens of the United States. It is found in the constitution in the bill of rights.
