LEARNER AGENCY AT TOKO SCHOOL
This term we have been focusing on ensuring all our children understand the Bronze level of agency. This has nothing to do with academic levels, and everything to do with the amount of support that they need from the teacher in order to achieve to their best ability. We have been unpacking the skills and dispositions needed in order to be a Bronze Learner. They break down into four main areas - being responsible, being focused, being independent and being organised. Once these things are achieved, students move on to being Silver Learners.

ON THE SCROUNGE
Room 5 are still wanting to turn their hydrosols into soap. But in order to do this, we need certain equipment, and once it is used in soap making, it cannot be used for anything else again! What we are after is stick blenders, crock pots, and stainless steel or enamal pots - med and large (but not aluminium). If you have any of these unwanted items, please send them to Room 5.

Children will move through a number of athletics rotations throughout the day. Please ensure your child has their sunhat and has put sunblock on before they come to school, if it is sunny. If it is cooler please bring warm clothing as the children will be outside for the entire day. If the weather is no good the postponement date is Tuesday 9th April. You are more than welcome to come along on the day to watch and support your children. We are looking forward to a great event.
Toko School Tryathlon
This was another fantastic event for our children to participate in. Congratulations to all the children on a tremendous effort. Thank you to our wonderful Year 7 and 8 students who assisted our Year 1 and 2 students to compete in this event. It was also great to see so many parents supporting all our students. A very big thank you to Miss Jury for her organisation and co-ordination. Another thank you to the Stratford Runners and Walkers for letting us borrow their road signs, cones and providing some helpers on the road.
