LCFF Reminder!
We need ALL families to respond to the LCFF survey! Remember - your response has a direct influence on ensuring that the Met receives all available funding to support YOUR students! If you have more than one student at the Met, you do need to complete the survey for EACH student. Please check your email for “survey monkey” or rrode@sandi.net to find the relevant email, and answer 2 quick questions. Please contact Sylvia Hoffman (shoffman1@sandi.net) if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!
Parent Notification of Comprehensive Sexual Health Education for 9th Grade
California state law, the California Healthy Youth Act, requires that comprehensive sexual health and HIV prevention education be provided to students at least once in middle school and once in high school, starting in grade 7. In keeping with these requirements and guidelines, the Met will be offering a sexual health education unit to all 9th graders through their science (biology) class this school year. Please click here for a letter to parents/guardians with relevant information and links.
Please click here for links to pre-recorded curriculum previews. A reminder notification will be sent to all 9th grade parents/guardians at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the sexual health instruction.

PSAT for 11th Grade - Thurs, Oct. 26, 9am to 12pm
11th grade Met students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT on October 26, 2023. The test is being offered by the district free of charge. This is now a digital test and students have been loaded into the test day toolkit on their school issued computers. Additionally, students have been mailed initial instructions.
The link below will provide more information about what to expect for the digital exam, how students can practice and more details for a smooth administration.

Our testing coordinator, Siv Verdun, is working with district staff to complete our readiness steps. 11th grade students will need to bring their school issued computers to school on Wednesday, October 18, as they will be working with district staff to prepare for the test on October 26. As October 26 is a Thursday, students will have to let their mentors know in advance that they will not be at their internship that day.
The exam is expected to take approximately 3 hours and is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm. Students will be dismissed after that. On the day of the test, students will need to have their school issued computer and a charger. They can also bring snacks and water for their break.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Ms. Verdun at: sdavis1@sandi.net.
“Leaving to Learn” Visit to UCSD - Friday, October 20
Our MetUp theme for October is college visits. Last year we explored SDSU, and this year we are visiting UCSD. There will be a presentation, campus tour and time to explore the vibrant UCSD campus! This is a required school day. Dismissal time will be upon return to school. We will share more information soon!
FAFSA Announcement
Due to the major overhaul of the FAFSA, it will not open this year until sometime in December 2023. The updates have not been finalized and we have still not been given an actual release date, but federal law requires the FAFSA to be released prior to 12/31/23. We will have more details soon.
