Let's make FTSD "Stigma-free!"
On Monday, March 28th, the Florence Twp. School District Board of Education proudly adopted a resolution to join the Burlington County Commissioners’ initiative in becoming a “stigma-free” school district and to continue to wholeheartedly support mental health initiatives for all members of our school community. As part of this county-wide effort to normalize conversations pertaining to mental health, the FTSD will work cooperatively within the community and through this county initiative to ensure all students, staff, and families are supported in their various needs for mental health interventions.
Through the county initiative, the FTSD is currently preparing events, activities, and various ways to introduce students to the term “Stigma-free.” These opportunities will provide our school officials ways to hear directly from the students about what types of county-wide support may benefit them or thei introduce activities for students and families to offer creative ways to support students in person and virtually throughout the school day.
One such project currently taking place is the Stigma-Free Zone T-shirt Contest available to all Riverfront & FTMHS students (see flyer below). All designs are due by April 14th. Designs should be emailed to the building principal for submission.
