Highlander FA Spring Trip to Six Flags
Friday, May 3rd is a GREEN day! Please be sure to check in with your green day teachers.
Parents/Guardians, Please sign up to bring donations of food, water, coolers, etc. We want to make sure this trip is fun for all AND that we are taking care of ourselves.
Students, I need to know the names of all students in each group. Please read the rules below.
- Student groups must have 4 or more students at all times.
- When you fill out the "Spring Trip, Student Groups" form, make sure you list your phone number in case we have an emergency and need to get ahold of you while at the park.
- Groups of 4 MUST be out of the same program. Ex. Chaperones must always see 4 of the same colors at all times. If your group of 4 would like to hang out with a choir group of 4, or band group of 4 that is totally fine! But if you all split up, make sure you stick with the orchestra.
- Chaperones, you will be divided among the orchestra buses. I will send out a separate email to the chaperones that includes the plan for the day!
Please sign-up to donate something from the list below! All donations must have "D101-Orchestra" labeled on it. Any donations not labeled, could end up on the band or choir buses. Donations can be brought in to the school with the student, OR dropped off at the front office.

Use of McC Instruments
Student's grades will start to reflect the misuse of McC instruments.
We have had many troubles this year with students mistreating the school instruments. Our cellos & basses are being dropped, knocked over, carved, kicked, slammed, etc. We will now be taking off points on participation grades for each and every time this happens. Parents, if you start to see your student's grade drop, this can be why. We will be keeping a record of each and every specific instance. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Thank you to Mrs. Marker for taking over the Vice President position for McCullough JH!
Thank you to Mrs. Price & Mrs. Kwon for helping with the McC Auditions on Feb. 24th!
Thank you to the TWHS/McC Booster Club for replacing the orchestra printer!
Thank you to our private lesson teachers for helping our students take their talents to the next level!
Thank you to our parents for supporting the Highlander Orchestra program!
How can you help support the McC Orchestra program?
Our wonderful Booster Club offers so much of their Time, Talent, and Treasure. This allows the McCullough JH Directors to devote more time and energy to their students. The more parents we have volunteer to help, the less work there is for everyone!
Here are a few examples of ways you can help...
- Time - We often need parents to help chaperone trips and socials. We will need a few parents to help size students for dresses and black dress shirts. Locker Signs will be ready soon! We'll need help sticking them to all of the program's student lockers.
- Talent - Are you a photographer? Seamstress? Do you have creative ideas and enjoy decorating? We could use help with decorating for concerts and parties!
- Treasure - Are you able to donate snacks/drinks for OrchToberfest? What about Halloween or Winter decorations for the orchestra room?
